What do you do with a blank slate?
The final game based assignment of the class involved us creating a 'game'. Aptly named the 'Frontier of Freedom', we had the liberty to choose the genre, platform and audience for our game. As I have learned over the past year, it's often the hardest to work without any kind of constraints. This time too, it took me a while to figure out the basic structure of my game and then I iterated multiple times till I was satisfied with the end result. I ended up creating a card game for two players that can be played within 10 - 15 minutes. It involves a 5 x 5 grid which is built organically based on how the players place their cards on the table.
